OFFSET 1 |
Condition status: Complete |
Type(s): Onground management, Rehabilitation |
Rationale: This offset involves the onground management of a 79.2 hectare portion of Bush Forever site 356. The site contains foraging habitat for Carnaby's cockatoo and vegetation which has value as an ecological corridor. The site also contains two resource enhancement category damplands totalling approximately 1.4 hectares. The offset includes undertaking rehabilitation to support and buffer these damplands.
When combined with offset 2, a total of 86.7 hectares will be actively managed by the permit holder for the purpose of improving the condition and value of the existing remnant native vegetation. Both offsets also involve rehabilitation to support and buffer wetland areas.
Given the above, the two offsets combined are considered relevant and proportionate to the significance of the environmental values being impacted, addressing the residual impacts. |
Security arrangements: The offset site is a Bush Forever site vested with the Western Australian Planning Commission. |
