To offset the loss of significant greater bilby (Macrotis lagotis) habitat, the Permit Holder shall revegetate and rehabilitate an area of at least 38 hectares within the combined areas shaded red on Plan 6078/3a, 6078/3b, 6078/3c, 6078/3d, 6078/3e, 6078/3f, 6078/3g, 6078/3h, 6078/3i and 6078/3j (portions of the Cape Leveque Rd to be made redundant). The Permit Holder shall adhere to the document “Main Roads Western Australia – Cape Leveque Road Upgrade – Revegetation Management Plan – October 2014 – Rev No. 1” when undertaking the revegetation and rehabilitation.

Timeframe:

Revegetation and rehabilitation shall commence within 12 months of completion of the Cape Leveque Road upgrade and be completed no later than 31 December 2025.

The Permit Holder shall monitor areas revegetated and rehabilitated to determine vegetation cover, density, diversity, structure and weed cover and to assess areas revegetated and rehabilitated under this Permit against the completion criteria identified at condition 11(e).

- Mean vegetation cover (excluding weeds) = >50%
- Mean number of tall shrub/overstorey stems per hectare = >400 stems per hectare
- Species diversity = >160 native flora taxa
- Structure = >20% overstorey, >30% midstorey, >30% understorey
- Mean weed foliage cover = <5%
