The proposed clearing will allow Galaxy Resources to commence mining operations (colloquially termed the Ravensthorpe Spodumene Project). The project will involve establishing an open cut pit and constructing associated infrastructure including a tailings storage facility, waste dump, processing plant, access roads and stockpile areas (Keith Lindbeck and Associates, 2009).
